The Alphabet Deck for Magicians

I created the Soup Deck™ as an alternative to traditional playing cards.

The deck contains 52 alphabet cards (A–Z repeated twice), two blank-face cards, and a second deck of 40 double-blank cards that can be customized for your own routines and presentations.

Originally designed for use with WiFLY™, the oversized cards measure 4-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ and fit perfectly inside the large WiFLY™ cans. But I can also see them being useful for children’s entertainers, library performers, school assemblies, church programs, family entertainers, and anyone who simply prefers not to use playing cards.

The Soup Deck can be used for letter-themed routines, word divinations, custom predictions, educational presentations, and countless other effects limited only by your imagination.

The included blank cards allow you to create additional letters, special cards, predictions, drawings, and other custom pieces tailored to your own style of performing.

Note for WiFLY™ Users

The cards are intentionally supplied untreated. One of the strengths of the Soup Deck is its flexibility. By leaving the cards untreated, you can decide which letters and blank cards best suit your own routines.

If you wish to use rough-and-smooth principles with WiFLY™, simply treat the specific letter cards and blank cards needed for your routine using your preferred roughing method. Unlike a traditional rough-and-smooth Bicycle deck, both the blank card and the corresponding letter card must be treated so the rough surfaces contact each other and keep the cards together.

I created the Soup Deck as a utility prop and a starting point for your own creativity. Whether you’re performing for children, families, or adults, I hope it helps you create presentations centered around letters, words, thoughts, and messages rather than traditional playing cards.
