Hydrating the President.

On August 21st, I performed for the employees of Fujitsu Microelectronics to celebrate Fujitsu Day. The event started with a BBQ on the outdoor patio as I strolled amongst the group performing close-up magic. After lunch, I took the 'stage' to present a stand-up comedy magic show with lots of participation from several participants.  The smiles on their faces said it all. The magical afternoon provided the employees a couple hours of much needed relaxation, laughs and camaraderie.

I seriously believe that companies should make it their mission to provide comic relief to employees on a regular basis.  I have worked in many high tech companies where it's all ''business'' and little fun.  We need to laugh more often and not take ourselves so seriously.  A little bit of laughter goes a long way.  I am sure that the memories created that day will stay with everyone for a long time and will help to foster better relationships and team building.  Many of you know that I used to work at Fujitsu, from April 1985 unitil August 1992 when I was laid off.

I love what I do. And bringing my magical entertainment to corporate events is my passion.  Maybe being laid-off was a ''good thing''.  I changed careers and decided that I really loved performing.  I enjoy being ''outside the office'' and meeting hundreds of people every week.  After the lay-off, I have been "hired" back at Fujitsu several times as a ''consultant'' performing at employee parties, tradeshows for Networld Interop, Embedded Systems and more.

While I was at Fujitsu, I was Product Marketing Engineer for PC Cards, Smart Cards, Telecom Devices and Microprocessors.  Furthermore, I established the PCMCIA organization. But, most importantly, I established relationships with co-workers who became my friends.  I still keep in contact with many of them today.  It was fun seeing ''old friends'' again at this event.   For more information: Fujitsu Microelectronics America.
